Her first book started a ten book series, but Tijan felt that it was so badly written, that she took it down from a site for free reading. She still misses all of the socialization on a day to day basis people get with their co-workers. Having a regular job was super important and it was something that she found very tough to do, even though she knew she would be fine. It was a choice she agonized over, even though she knew it was a good decision. Her job was physically demanding and would make her so exhausted that she couldn’t be as productive as she was with her writing. Tijan began considering herself a writer when she had to quit her regular job since it was taking away from her writing. She was just as surprised as everybody else. She just knew she had to be a writer and tell stories. Right when she started, it all clicked for her.
She booted up her dad’s ancient computer, not sure if it would work, and began typing. One day she was at her family’s cabin and she just could not take it anymore.
More and more of them just kept coming to her. She never thought of herself as a writer, but there were words and storylines and characters inside of her head. She started writing later in her life and once she got into it, she was hooked right away. Tijan writes unpredictable and suspenseful novels that have landed her on the New York Times Bestseller list.
